Jenna-Louise Coleman (born 27 April 1986 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England) is an English actress. She began her television career by playing Jasmine Thomas in the soap opera Emmerdale from 2005 to 2009, followed by a recurring role in the BBC school-based drama series Waterloo Road (2009) Coleman's breakthrough came with the role of Clara Oswald, companion to the Eleventh and Twelfth incarnations of the Doctor, in the BBC One science-fiction series Doctor Who.
